How To Become a People Person
When it comes to the word people person, we always imagine a person who has a lot of friends and is always surrounded by people who embraced them. Well, that is true; after all, becoming a people person is about being able to enjoy and being good at interacting with other people. As we all know, sometimes people are born to be an extrovert; a person who enjoys spending time with others, while some people have to put some efforts to achieve such thing.
In this article, I’m about to tell you how I managed to be a people person. Here are some of my tips and tricks to get along with almost everyone based on my personal experience:
Always Accept Them For Who They Are
People never choose to be themselves. By accepting them, we are creating an environment where people can express themselves without having to worry about how people are going to think about them; it will mean the whole world for them if they have such a supportive community that will be there for them.
Never Be Afraid to Approach Them
When I say just jump in, don’t just jump into them without observing what the situation is like. People love good company when they are mingling and are looking to have fun. By doing so, you will create an instant bond with them that will light the friendship spark inside of you both if you are good at breaking the ice.
Use Your Ears More Than Your Mouth
There’s a reason why we have two ears and one mouth. To fully understand what they are saying, we have to pay close attention to their words. When we listen more, we will also have a better response to what they are saying. People always want to be heard, especially if they have something important to say. Even if what they are saying is not that important, it is still just as important to always listen to them.
Inside Clicks
Here, in Clicks, we frequently talk to each other about anything; jokes, assignments, difficulties, and many other topics. We listen to each other carefully because we know our voices matter and reflect what we are feeling at that moment. We consider ourselves to be a group that understands and respects each other regardless of our differences.
The differences that we are talking here are difference of opinion, personality, and advancement level of technical skills. Some people are good in a certain field and others are not. We have encountered that problem countless of times. We always help each other to do the part where we are well-versed and they need help to understand it.
Difference of opinion is also something that is crucial in our team. Even though some of us are better than the other when it comes to a certain field of technical skill, we still hear their opinion because it may be the answer that we are looking for. There is no right or wrong in our team
When it comes to personality it is no secret that there are to great teams right from the start. Since we met in college, we have known each other right from the start. However, when we started Clicks project, we have been closer than ever. We get to know each other personally and also how to deal with their emotions better as time gets by. Everything is a gradual process.
Conclusions
Being a people person means that we have to be able to handle people in terms of interactions in the right way. You have to get used to it in order to become a master of it; talk to and get to know a lot of different people with different backgrounds, it will build your people person skills.
